I am not sure if this question is appropriate here in Forum, however here is my query- I am new to C development and looking for some online/open "C" project to be part of. Basically I am a Perl developer and wish to gain expertize in C development. I have been reading some books to learn C and C++ since quite some time. It will be great if someone puts his/her invaluable advice regarding my query.

osix.net has some good challenges to try out your coding skills.

After that there are loads of projects at SourceForge that need programmers. Find a project you like and volunteer.
