and you must start with the basic information of html that what does html actually perform.

i would suggest you the same way i started... in fact you might call it old stuff but it's extremely helpful
i started last year by learning a tutorial start-to-end of html 3.2 which is an OLD version of html. once you're in, don't look back, and PRACTICE a LOT
choose the right type of archive depended on your system and preference and have fun... after learning this you'll be ready 4 the advanced stuff

w3schools is a good reference I would also suggest learning from videos like in lynda.
