if you want to learn HTML like mark up lanuage then you can take help from w3school.com. and you must start with the basic information of html that what does html actually perform.

i would suggest you the same way i started... in fact you might call it old stuff but it's extremely helpful
i started last year by learning a tutorial start-to-end of html 3.2 which is an OLD version of html. once you're in, don't look back, and PRACTICE a LOT choose the right type of archive depended on your system and preference and have fun... after learning this you'll be ready 4 the advanced stuff

There is this website called www.w3schools.com visit the site and you will be able to learn all the markup languages one by one.
