problem with .htaccess file

    when i access my site it displays the sourcecode that to asking if u want to open/save the particular page.

    Does it display fine without .htaccess file?

    no same problem,when am disable that.
    some times if u call specific file it will display, some times not.
    i changed the MIME type also, not working.

    So it is not the problem with .htaccess file but mainly what I can sense is PHP and specially .php files are not configured into your Apache to work.

    Or could be the short_tag option disabled from php.ini. I encounted this problem a while ago but not with save file aspect.
