Hello. I only was wondering if I may ask question?
Recently my website suddenly was missing index.html file.
Of course I am trying to figure out what happened, server somehow deleted it? I doubt it.
I have a politically sensitive site (well hated by rich company that I expose) so I was wondering if hacking my webhost server and deleting index.html is somthing a hacker would do or maybe just some kind of accident?
Thanking you very much

Hi,
First try creating the thread in the right forum and I have for now moved your thread in the right forum. Also My answer would be accident because if I get hold of your FTP server and you are exposing me I would delete everything and not just one file. If this happens regularly then you can assume something is behind it. |

Also,a script kiddie wouldn't delete the index file,he/she would make a deface ( put his name in your front page) for 2 minutes of fame).
Just create the index.html and scan your websites for vulnerabilities. Recently i accessed a well Known Proxy-server service server. And i wonder, where's the security of the members then. Make sure you update everything and "secure it". |

LOL well i mean sometimes i get into the site (depending on either if its hosted on his server or a hosting company) ill include a virus into the upload directory which then gets saved on to his pc and then include a batch file to specify to open a port like 9999 and then install netcat then remotely connect to his pc
Then thats where the fun starts
