Find a site you wanted to have one of its kind and start cloning.

I learned PHP by examples. If you find it useful and method suits you, find a site with step-by-step tutorials. Something like jobeet from Symfony.

    i learned there
pretty good tutorials, easy to understand but the real thing comes when you try to code your own web site
    i prefer Google a lot :D

its like you go and search for the BEST website out there
then you start making its CLONE or copying the thing as it is
this way you get off the HARD designing PART (that most of the web programmers lack :D )
and get in directly to the coding

but dont't cheat (like using chrome developer tools :D )
just try to make everything b yourself from the CSS style to Jscript
and when you find places to insert php use php

this way you'll learn the progamming part easy and later you can make your own design

I would say cheat as much as you can but that will only help in html and not in PHP and so copy html and work on PHP.

You can start cloning Go4Expert.com as well if you wish to.
