Back links helps your blog get more visitors. In order to get lots of back links, participating on the techniques like forum posting just like what you are doing now, article and directory submissions, social bookmarking, etc. helps.

Above all is the quality content that you have. Visitors will stay long or even comes back and forth if you have quality content.

There are so many ways to drive traffic to your Blog. Search on Google for the top Blog Directories and submit your blog there manually. Aim to get listed in at least 10 good directories. Leave meaningful comments on other blogs. Create unique content… the content you write is what will keep readers coming back for more and share with their contacts.

Make your website be visible on search engines..try submitting it to social bookmarkings, social networkings, and do a linkbuilding.

quality, not quantity that matters. update blog with interesting, quality content, but just by writing good content you cannot drive traffic, though quality of the content matters, it's marketing that makes the difference. spread the word in every possible way, come on. you have a lot of options in the Internet. Social Media is one of the best platform to promote your blog, write article for other sites also, in this way you can get back links, and also can drive traffic. Syndication, there are a lot of sites in the web for syndication, post the summary of every blog you write and drop links along with summary. There are many other ways to promote blog, like social bookmarking, squidoo lens, forums etc..
