In a computer hard disk, when files or data (whatever you say) are added, the operating system stores it in the available free space. As a result, parts of the file wind up in separate areas of the disk, causing additional arm movement when the files are sequentially read. A utility program is used to reorder the files in a contiguous manner.
What is the name of that particular utility program?
