I've seen Linux freezing the desktop, but never seen crashing.

what about Mac? Is someone there who works on Mac?
Not many Indian's use it, due to various reasons.

    This is what I think.

In India (and maybe else where also) everyone goes by the masses and not the classes.
When one thing sticks, it sticks for a long time.

Windows in OS, Nokia in Mobile, Orkut in Social Networking... and many more examples.
But times are changing and Windows is getting replaced by Unix (slowly), there are lot more competitors for Nokia, and Facebook is also picking pace and lot of them are leaving Orkut behind :)

The other reason is what you said, people don't know about it still.

    What's with windows.
You can get it from anyone (everyone has a copy of it, maybe original bought maybe borrowed) and port it to any machine easily.

But Linux was not that simple till now.
You need to get the image, burn it, make partitions, assign partitions
And also the fear of going something wrong and losing everything :)

And for Mac, even that's not easy to port on Intel machines.
But now using Iatkos it can be done.
I've it on DVD but I don't have machine with such RAM, so that I can test it out.

Luckily soon enough, one of my friend is going to try it out. :)

nice answer, my bro went to california, in college they had two sections one for windows users and one for mac, he by mistake sat in mac section and got so confused lol, the lady next to him understood and told him to goto the windows section, that day he called me and asked whats this mac? :p

Moreover in colleges, in labs and in courses we are taught throught windows and in higher education some of linux, no one mentions theres something called Mac, infact i won't be surprised if some teachers don't know what mac is, they are so bound to the course, they just don't want to learn new things or want others to either...

He's really an idiot. Check the comments on that video post :)

Steve jobs won't do any such thing for Apple.

haha.. Can imagine a person sitting in a class which he hasn't even heard the name of?
I second you, to the point that you made in the last statement.
And not everyone know linux as well.
I would rather say not every windows user know windows very well , leave mac and unix aside.
