and 2ndly ok but that doesn't mean people give thanks left and right jus to give rep to each other, it should have that content to be thanked. I am arguing not for here but for general cases in the forum....

well, I have one answer for the question, Why "Remove my thanks" option is there.

This happened now, after I read this post and so I came back to answer this.

Since Thanks and Quote are just adjacent to each other, I wanted to use Quote and by mistake I hit Thanks, which I didn't wanted for that post.
So I made use of "Remove my Thanks".

And how will anyone will feel insult if someone remove his thanks.
Is everyone going to keep track of each and every thanks received. I don't think so.

well even if someone does keep a track, now with your idea, you can just say oh actually i pressed thanks by mistake, so i removed it. lol
