I have oftened wondered why, if a bad guy hacker can write a virus or trojan, why can't a good guy hacker make a virus eating program that recognizes the bad signature data, and eats it? Something you could turn loose on the internet to go eat all known viruses. Why hasn't the government made such a program? Does Pac Man come to mind?

Why hasn't a good guy made an advertisement virus that you can send back to these people who fill your email boxes & computers with their stuff? A program you mail to your own free internet mail box (not browser), that will sens these incoming emails back where they came from, whereever that is. :surprised

So anti-virus goes out onto the internet, attaches to emails & ads, etc. to kill viruses? I didn't know that.

steamed i appreciate ur thinking...u got an impeccable idea in ur mind...if the virus spreaders can be flooded with their own virus then what could we expect better option than this to get rid of viruses...

It cannot but if something gets attached to your PC for protecting you without your knowledge. It would still be called a virus only because definition of Virus is not something to destroy but what you want it to be done to an extent.
