I'm new to the forums, as well as programming, I know some C ++ and a little python. I joined so i can get some help learning C ++ because reading a 1000+ page book isn't the greatest thing.

1000+ pages is not what you need to read to get off with programming but you should be reading some good articles on what you are looking for.
