Good tips there. But creating a search engine friendly website does not necessarily mean that you will get top listing for a particular keyword or keyword phrase. It is however a necessary first step if you want to rank anywhere near the first few pages of the search engine results.

There are ways that helps you get index aside from search engine submissions. Here are some of these methods.

Building Links - back links helps your site get index. Deep linking helps your inner pages get index as well.
Creating a sitemap.
Pinging your website or blog.
