    Introduction

I'm gonna tell you some process using these you can speed up your pc [Without any network connections]

    The Procedure

Just log on to your pc with any administrator account, and go to RUN ant type <msconfig> press enter.
    Then click services tab.
Now I'm giving you some service names which are related to networking of a OS but unnecessary for a computer without any network connections!
    The services are

    • DNS Client
    • TCP/IP Net bios helper
    • Net logon
    • Network Connections
    • Windows firewall/Internet connection sharing
    • Telephony
    • Webclient
    • Automatic updates
    • Security center
    • office source engine
Just uncheck all these services so they do not run when started.

Now click the start up tab [This can be used on any computer e.g, having network or internet connection]

Uncheck those programs which are unnecessary for you. Remember never uncheck RUNdll32, audio device's program and a antivirus program!

*Just like PCSUITE, PCSYNC, ADOBE UPDATER, NMBgmonitor, Adobe Reader Synchronizer, or any media player's service etc.

    Now press APPLY and OK!
    Now restart your pc,
After starting again you will find a message, there check the option DON'T SHOW ME AGAIN and press OK!

    Now it is done!

CAUTION  : IF ANY ERROR OCCURS, JUST RUN YOUR PC IN SAFE MODE BY PRESSING F8 AT THE BOOT SCREEN [JUST BEFORE THE WINDOWS XP LOGO APPEARS AND CHOOSE SAFE MODE]. THEN LOG IN WITH ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT AND UNDO ALL THE WORKS!

Mostly no errors will occur. If error starts occuring try using Tune up utils. It has the same optimization process. It will do such that no error will occur.

Is it possible to have different setups in different userprofiles?
My problem is that I have uded an old PC as a mediacomputer for recording terrestial DVB-T television on the harddisk. It works, but from time to time it has errors - which I presume is caused by virusprotection and network related programs. If I remove all the network relatet thing I obviously will not have the opportunity to see Youtube etc. - So how can I have 2 different setups to choose from when I start the computer?

You can speed up your PC by scanning whole computer through updated antivirus ,deleting temporary files, deleting unused data and by increasing size of RAM.
